KCRTL to Sponsor Post-Abortion Counseling Training for 4th Year

KCRTL, along with Whitley County Right to Life and Elkhart County Right to Life, will be sponsoring a three-day training conference to teach participants how to counsel women experiencing Post-Abortion Stress (PAS). The training, led by Kim Olson, international abortion recovery trainer, will take place from Wednesday, March 24 through Friday, March 26 (9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day). The training, which will take place at Warsaw Community Church in Warsaw, IN, is for anyone (professional counselors, pregnancy centers, laypeople, church representatives or pastors) who would like to reach out to post-abortive women.

The training includes defining PAS, identifying who is at risk, defense mechanisms, the impact of abortions on relationships, the grieving process, and healing tasks for recovery. The training will also include how to start a post-abortion program and making contact with potential clients. Much of the training will cover the use of a Bible study for post-abortive women and instructions on how to facilitate the study.

This training conference has been taking place around the country and the cost is normally $175.00 not including the cost of lunches. The cost for this conference will be $100.00 per person, and lunch each day will be provided free of charge. The fee will also include the manual and snacks. For more information and to register, please e-mail us at info@kcrtl.org or call the Kosciusko County Right to Life office at 574-267-3481.

Abortion statistics tell of the millions of babies who are conceived, but never born. They do not, however, address the other casualties-the women who suffer from emotional and spiritual death after choosing to have an abortion. Many of these women have lost hope and suffer in silence from the pain of their abortions. The hopelessness they feel affects most all of their relationships with family and friends. Through this abortion recovery ministry we want to help people reach out to women who are suffering because of past abortions. It is our desire to see women and families restored to freedom through God's forgiveness and healing.
